Hospitality- Project Manager - Senior Associate

As the Senior Associate level  Hospitality Project Manager - Cafe Food & Beverage at Capital One, you will support the strategy and execution of high priority projects alongside the team responsible for creating a winning hospitality experience in our Cafés. You will be responsible for helping to deliver an exceptional food & beverage experience. Your work will delight and engage consumers—with a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with both internal and external partners. 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed; manage complex up and downstream project impacts.

  • Plan and coordinate projects supporting key initiatives with food and beverage vendors, mobilizing the right internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective integration and execution.

  • Collaborate effectively and forge relationships with key stakeholders across the consumer experience — including the Market Executives, Retail Strategy and Analytics, Retail Operations, Marketing, Brand, Community Engagement, Facilities Management, Design and Construction teams.

  • Develop and manage monthly reporting for various initiatives such as SLA and NPS management, MBRs and other adhoc needs

  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business process

  • Work with hospitality vendors on invoicing and budgeting, using internal tools to verify and process invoices.   

  • Support the development and oversight of hospitality operational processes, procedures and readiness.

  • Prepare and submit monthly sales reporting and invoice reconciliation.

  • Manage frontline communications, ensuring knowledge of food and beverage related activities are communicated through appropriate channels with both Capital One and Food & Beverage vendors. 

  • Partner with key stakeholders, including PR and Marketing, to ensure consistency in messaging across food and beverage initiatives. 

  • Develop retrospectives to share successes and learnings.

  • Partner closely with legal, risk and compliance teams to coordinate the execution of necessary documentation or contracts.

  • This role will require approximately 25% travel to Cafés for site visits and meetings.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to handling any challenge that might arise and ability to quickly troubleshoot any problems.

  • Exhibit strong problem solving and influencing skills

  • Have proven experience identifying and implementing solutions for improving team delivery processes.

  • Have proven data management and reporting skills using Google sheets or other equivalent tools.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and attention to detail skills

  • Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Strong experience with MS Office, Google Suite and other related project management and common communications tools

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification 

  • At least 2 years of Project or Event Management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working in the hospitality or food and beverage industry

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree

  • 5+ years of Project or Event Management experience

  • 2+ years of project management experience in hospitality, or food and beverage industry

  • 1+ year experience with managing budgets

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Project Manager


McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Project Manager


Wilmington, DE: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Project Manager









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
