As a Principal Associate, Process Manager at Capital One, you will own processes associated with data management policy compliance of high priority datasets and critical business processes to mitigate risk and drive well managed results. You will collaborate with teams across the Enterprise, Retail Bank and be a close partner with lines of businesses that consume Retail Bank data to implement appropriate monitoring of critical data usages. Day-to-day, as a Principal Associate Process Manager, you will execute existing processes autonomously, build new processes to mitigate gaps and evolve processes with a continuous improvement mindset. You will become a subject matter expert and deliver on data management strategies to drive business objectives and improve business efficiencies. From problem solving across departments to facilitating meetings and driving alignment on plans, you’ll have a wide range of duties to keep progress moving forward.
The ideal candidate can deliver in a challenging and fast-paced environment with attention to details. Additionally, the candidate needs to be skilled in managing stakeholder and customer expectations, while concurrently maintaining process delivery. The role requires a well-rounded individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong process management experience as well as project management and risk management background. Previous experience managing processes in a Data Management role is preferred.
General Responsibilities:
Autonomously manage multiple processes and controls owned by the HPU Management team within Data Management and Governance
Maintain and develop processes with moderate to high levels of complexity to drive a well managed High Priority Usage scope of work
Utilize process management principles to appropriately document processes to drive efficiencies and mitigate gaps to always be Audit ready
Develop and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment and revising needs to meet changing requirements as needed
Ensure processes are executed timely to maintain effective controls and appropriately monitor High Priority Usages based on compliance guidelines
Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure intent delivery
Partner cross-functionally with customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive comprehensive processes
Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
The selected candidate will:
Exhibit and demonstrate a track record of process and project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure/processes in place to manage tasks and related expectations
Be an innovative problem solver and have a continuous improvement mindset to create efficiencies and continue to evolve our processes
Exhibit strong influencing skills to effectively execute and adjust processes/controls
Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Have demonstrated experience in managing various processes to achieve business objectives and maintain a well managed scope of work
Strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment using project management and process management skills
A desire to ask why and understand how we can improve
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 5 years of experience in Process Management or Project Management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
Lean, Six Sigma, BPM, or PMP certification
2+ years of experience working with data languages and platforms

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $102,700 - $117,200 for Principal Process ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
