Communications Associate

Join a team that’s helping drive Capital One’s Commercial organization into the future! The Communications Associate role is grounded in creativity and program management. Help drive our cross-organizational communications campaigns to strengthen our Commercial engagement, progress our Commercial strategy, and diversify how we communicate with our associates. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a strategic partner to support the lead communicators and chiefs of staff 

• Help plan and prepare effective and engaging internal communications that educate, inform, connect with associates 

• Bring our communications strategy to life through creative storytelling and engaging experiences, including executive meetings, all-employee meetings, digital/video storytelling, and special events

• Execute communications in the rollout of business objectives

• Play an integral role promoting associate engagement to continue to energize the culture 

• Evaluate performance for communications, based on metrics and other leading key performance indicators; recommend refinements to communications strategies, messaging and feedback mechanisms, as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong business acumen and executive presence with a history of establishing and growing trusting relationships leaders and key stakeholders 

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

• Experience with project management

• Strong writing and story-telling skills with sound editorial judgment

• The ability to distill complex content into clear, concise and engaging communications

• Experience managing issues

• Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

• Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with an ability to consistently execute multiple, and sometimes competing, activities and complex projects to high quality conclusion, on-time, and within budget

• A track record of consistently acting with urgency as needed

• Strong customer-orientation and proven track record of collaborative work relationships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 2 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, English or journalism

• At least 3 years of experience in the banking or financial services industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $64,700 - $73,900 for Communications Associate

McLean, VA: $71,200 - $81,300 for Communications Associate

Richmond, VA: $64,700 - $73,900 for Communications Associate

Houston, TX: $64,700 - $73,900 for Communications Associate

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
