Capital One’s development programs set you up for success as you cycle through two positions with two different teams as a full-time associate. During the Management Development Program, you’ll experience two distinct delivery management roles.
From day one, you’ll bring your passion for problem-solving to figure out ways to help our customers and colleagues. You’ll rotate through two positions with two different teams as a full-time associate. It’s a dynamic pathway designed to expand your influence, develop your leadership skills and help you carve a career path of your choosing.
Two paths, one leadership foundation
The program offers two distinct tracks tailored to your unique strengths, background, and interests. In Strategic Delivery, you’ll focus on operational efficiency, client relationships and cross-functional storytelling on teams like Chief of Staff, HR, Communications or Program Management. In Risk Advisory, you’ll navigate complex business puzzles, analyze data and safeguard the organization within critical lines like Risk Management, Compliance, Fraud, Governance and Internal Audit.
Across both pathways, you’ll learn to establish project plans and leverage data-driven insights to lead meaningful change across the enterprise. MDP associates have done everything from creating education programs that improve customer cyber security to delivering new messaging tools for customer care teams and developing marketing plans for CreditWise, our credit monitoring tool.
Find and develop your passions
Outside of the day-to-day work, MDP associates participate in multi-day professional development sessions on topics like creating communication plans, using data visualization tools and influencing change. You'll build core skills in team leadership and stakeholder management alongside a tight-knit community. You’ll have advisors, mentors and cohort members to turn to for professional insights and help making connections. You’ll meet with senior leaders for career advice, attend some of the world’s biggest tech conferences and earn valuable industry credentials that make sense for your unique path—including PMP, CAPM or CSM certifications or advanced certificates in AWS and AI.
As you explore new skills and find work that resonates, you’ll have the freedom to be yourself and rotate to teams that align with your interests and goals. No matter what you choose, your leaders and colleagues will support you every step of the way.

Our MDP alumni are proof of where this program can take you. Take Robby, a recent alum who set his early career up for success by trying new things, leaning in and making a big impact right out of school. Other alumni include a vice president of product management who helped build digital tools that assist our customers and a senior manager for the Center for Machine Learning, who builds roadmaps for models that make predictive decisions about everything from customer risk to extending new lines of credit.
