Ever since our first credit card customer in 1994, Capital One has recognized that technology and data can enable even large companies to be innovative and personalized. Building on Capital One’s pioneering adoption of modern cloud and data capabilities, Capital One Software is helping accelerate the data management journey at scale for businesses operating in the cloud. We are seeking top tier talent to join our pioneering team and propel us towards our destination. You will be joining a team of innovative product, tech, and design leaders that tirelessly seek to question the status quo. As a Capital One Director, Product Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of building this business and bring these tools to market.

This senior leader will bring an enterprise perspective in setting the vision for our cloud-based data security products and will have deep experience in the B2B technology and security markets. They will leverage their expertise in product marketing to establish a high-performing team and develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to effectively position our solutions across multiple channels.

The product marketing charter is to make our data security solutions successful in the market and with customers. This team defines the end-to-end GTM strategy, not just focusing on top-of-funnel goals but also on activation, adoption, and long-term customer value. As experts in our customers and products, they will use their insights to shape the product roadmap, establish thought leadership, and drive market differentiation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop a high-performing product marketing team, ensuring alignment with Capital One Software objectives.

  • Be the subject matter expert on key product areas, understanding technical nuances and market demands.

  • Define and execute comprehensive GTM strategies for data security products in collaboration with the GTM team, driving adoption and revenue growth.

  • Craft compelling product messaging and positioning to communicate value across various audiences.

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing content, including whitepapers, case studies, blogs, and sales enablement materials, among others.

  • Keep a pulse on the market: drive ‘always on’ competitive intelligence and market research to influence strategy.

  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams to ensure a seamless go-to-market process.

  • Represent the company externally at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings.

  • Define pricing and packaging strategies to optimize market penetration and revenue.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in product marketing

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • At least 5 years of experience leading and developing product marketing strategies

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of enterprise security, cloud technologies and B2B SaaS Markets

  • 3+ years of experience driving successful product launches and market expansion

  • Deep understanding of the data security market

  • Extensive understanding of data security concepts 

  • Technical knowledge of relevant data security solutions 

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical features into compelling marketing messages, and experience working with both technical and business audiences

  • Master's Degree

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
