Principal Associate, Art Director - Auto Finance

Ideally, you’re a visual storyteller. You can take facts and data and craft compelling designs to turn them into a great story. You have a great eye for photography. And while you’re great at sky-high concepting, you’re also ok with detail oriented, day-to-day marketing work. Finally, you have the strategy chops to provide consultative design guidance to the creative and not-so-creative alike.

Capital One Auto is seeking an experienced creative Art Director who will be working in a classic creative team, as well as partnering with larger groups (including business partners, project managers, strategy teams, etc). You’ll have a strong understanding of B2C advertising, web, and be up on current trends in the marketplace.

In addition, you must have strong communication skills and be able to manage your own workload to achieve tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A strong portfolio with a range of performance marketing work across channels, with a focus on digital creative.

The nitty gritty:

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid - Monday and Friday remote, Tuesday through Thursday in office

• Works well balancing deadlines, unexpected roadblocks or delays, revisions, ad hoc requests, and changing priorities

Responsibilities:

• Developing digital and print communications for consumer acquisition

  • Email, social, web banners, and native app or website placements

  • Along with digital storytelling, web-design, design thinking, and concept development

• Deliver high quality creative in a data backed, performance marketing environment. Closely collaborating with writers, brand managers, developers, data science, and analytics teams.

• Understand business priorities, anticipating needs in your work

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and recognize ideas that should go forward

• Effectively tailor message and pitch concepts to a broad group of approvers and stakeholders

• Expertise in email, mobile and digital design trends and best practices

• Ability to multitask, conceptualize, create and work directly with other team members with strong creative problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

• At least 3 years of experience working in a cross functional environment

• At least 2 years of experience working with a prototyping software, such as: Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Web Design

• 7+ years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

• 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment

• 4+ years of experience in design for Digital using prototyping software like Figma or Sketch App

• 3+ years of experience working on in house marketing

• 2+ years of experience in UI/UX background

• 1+ years of copywriting experience 

• 1+ years of experience in HTML/CSS

• 1+ years of experience with motion graphics (After Effects)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Associate, Art Director

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
