Capital One, a Fortune Magazine “100 Best Companies to Work For,”  is seeking a seasoned marketer, Senior Manager Retail Marketing Engagement to drive visibility to our brand defining cafes. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who will be the strategic and executional lead responsible for solving café engagement at scale—creating and executing integrated marketing plans that increase awareness and drive traffic both nationally and locally. You’ll work across digital, social, and physical channels to engage new and existing customers, while building and amplifying cafés within our network. Reporting to the Bank’s Director of Retail Marketing, the Senior Manager of Retail Marketing Engagement is a key member of the Bank’s Integrated Marketing team, and will lead an in-house team of high-performing marketers dedicated to marketing to reach customers and deepen customer engagement.  

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working within ambiguity and navigating an ever-changing business landscape. The ideal candidate will be solving for cafe engagement at scale, while increasing awareness and driving traffic at a national and local level. Additionally, the candidate has a keen eye for data & analytics and experience delivering thoughtful, data-driven strategic recommendations to partners and leaders. Your Role:

A passionate marketer with a track record of delivering breakthrough results who is known for unique ability to develop insight-driven campaigns. The Senior Manager, Cafe Engagement position will be the strategic and executional lead responsible for solving café engagement at scale.  You’ll work across Bank digital, social, Brand creative and physical channels to engage new and existing customers, while building and amplifying the unique identity of each café within our network. This role will bring ideas to life in creative ways that are persuasive while also being a highly collaborative contributor. Additionally, this role will oversee customer-centric marketing stories and deliver integrated content to help bring Banking Reimagined and our Cafe storiesto the masses. This role will partner with multiple stakeholder groups including Retail Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Social teams, physical channels and external agencies to deliver and execute insight-driven campaigns and content that establish Capital One as a bank that is looking out for customers and their money.

 Responsibilities:

  • Own the Retail Marketing Café Engagement Strategy, development, execution and performance of Retail marketing campaigns

  • Act as a strong, confident, and visionary team lead, with the capability to translate strategy into action for direct reports

  • Lead, develop and build a high performing team

  • Develop and implement a scalable engagement strategy that increases awareness and drives consistent traffic to cafés, tailored for both national impact and local resonance.

  • Own and optimize “Now Open” campaigns, seasonal promotions, and ongoing consumer engagement initiatives across all relevant marketing channels.

  • Lead the planning and execution of always-on content across internal platforms, email, digital channels, and social media to continuously engage customers and reinforce brand storytelling.

  • Manage the local marketing ecosystem including café-specific web pages, local listings , and event pages to ensure accuracy, discoverability, and relevance.

  • Build and manage an influencer strategy that supports both national campaigns and local market moments

  • Oversee organic and reactive social media to amplify reach and engagement.

  • Partner closely with creative, digital, and operations to bring campaigns to life

  • Oversee ATM campaigns to align with broader brand initiatives and drive in-store engagement.

  • Manage stakeholder communications and expectations throughout the campaign lifecycle

  • Advance our channel optimizations by improving analytics and testing capabilities, measurement/KPI (Key Performance Indicator)/metrics framework and reporting suites

  • Partner with our creative team to optimize creative assets

  • Continuously monitor campaign performance and identify/execute opportunities for in-flight enhancements

  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills, managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of excellence and accuracy

  • Able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams across a large organization, work autonomously, and navigate ambiguity

  • Able to effectively influence both peers and senior leadership

  • Superior problem-solving skills combined with team facilitation skills with ability to frame issues effectively for the executive audience

  • Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal and above-average communication skills

  • Ability to maintain a service-oriented team culture and mindset, that delivers consistent and high quality work

  • Ability to identify and translate goals and objectives into strategies, plans and tactics

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in digital or social marketing 

  • At least 8 years of experience planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs

  • At least 8 years of experience in Business to Consumer (B2C) direct response marketing

  • At least 8 years of experience in interpreting marketing program results and identifying cause & effect trends

  • At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • 10+ years of experience in Direct Marketing and Brand Management in a Business to Consumer (B2C) environment

  • 5+ years of experience leading cross functional teams within an organization

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr. Manager, Marketing


New York, NY: $186,300 - $212,700 for Sr. Manager, Marketing


Wilmington, DE: $155,300 - $177,200 for Sr. Manager, Marketing









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
